The principal pick-up point is usually Poole Quay Boat Haven.  For first time visitors there are two prime parking sites, one is the multi-storey car park set back from the only mini-roundabout on the Quay, (prices vary) and the other is at the rear of the red brick built Thistle Hotel at the opposite end of the Quay to Poole Lifting Bridge.  Here you can park for £2 for four hours, or £4 all day.  On the Quay there numerous pubs, café’s, food outlets and shops.

Visitors should make their way down the ramp of the Poole Quay Boat Haven (near to the mini-roundabout), report into the office and inform them that you are booked onto Knoticat.  You will be required to sign in (one person can sign for all) after which you will be free to join the boat.  Directions to our mooring can be obtained from the office staff if the boat is not instantly visible.

If you want to sail from Cobbs Quay Marina you should proceed down Blandford Road, Hamworthy to the lights with the ‘AllWays FryDay’ chip shop on the corner and follow the brown signs for Cobbs Quay.  Once inside the gates you should turn left for ‘F’ Pontoon and park in the free car park.  It will be necessary to leave a note inside your windscreen informing the marina staff that you are ‘Aboard Knoticat’ and you will need the gate code for entry onto the pontoon.  This can be supplied either on the day or when you make your booking.

Once you have chosen your pick-up venue, please do not change it for another without letting the skipper know in good time.  Please note also that although it is entirely possible to pick the boat up at Poole Quay Boat Haven if you miss it for whatever reason from Cobbs Quay, it will not be possible for the vessel to return to Cobbs Quay for latecomers due to strict Poole Bridge lifting times.

On those occasions when Knoticat is not based at Poole full details of the pick-up points will be supplied when making your booking.

On all occasions further advice about any of the above can be obtained by calling 07 88 99 70 70 2 or the skipper with whom you are sailing on the day.
