Activities

The Sports Forum for the Disabled hosts several activities, some of which are by mutual arrangement and others on a weekly basis; these include swimming, badminton, fencing, canoeing and a health spa.

The swimming, badminton and health spa are all held at The Littledown Centre, Castle Lane, Bournemouth and are all devoted disabled sessions.  There is wheelchair access to the pool and a chair hoist to assist in the lifting in and out of the pool and jacuzzi.  **Please note that children under the age of 16 are not allowed in the spa area.

Admittance is gained from the free, disabled parking area via a dedicated disabled ground level entrance and on to a lift accessing the facilities; which include a bar and café on the first floor level.

*The badminton runs each Saturday from 5pm – 6pm and costs £1 per person.

*The swimming and health spa runs each Saturday from 6pm – 7pm and costs £2.50 per person, but carers go free of charge.

For further details on these activities contact Nadine Walmsley on 07718 904090.

Canoeing sessions are held at The Littledown Centre and on the River Stour by prior arrangement.  For further details please contact Fionnuala on 01202 872409 or email to fionnuala@sportsforum.org.uk.

The wheelchair fencing sessions are also held at The Littledown Centre where all safety and fencing equipment and tuition is kindly provided by the Espada Fencing Club.

The Sports Forum for the Disabled is keen to promote other sporting activities and we would be delighted to hear from you with any suggestions.
